A lifelong dream - recovered?

My dreams of attending a performing arts school is not that far away now.

My dream of attending a dance course is within my reach.

Last night Kerry told me briefly about Hillsongs College offering Dance & Theology courses @ Sydney, Australia.......and I told Aaron I'm surprised they have a Hillsongs Performing Arts College, and he asked me a strange question (or so I thought it was) ,

"Would you be interested??"

I sort of burried the dream of doing a dance course a while back when most of the school's/Uni do not accept people with my criteria ( Not a teen and no proper dance background - techniques). To my surprise, at Hills, the Only consideration is PASSION...which is exactly what I have and need to get accepted.

I can now continue to pursue my dreams.

Finally a chance to do what I like! I suffered throughout college life, studying something I dislike (but it was my responsibility to finish what I started), so I did complete my Degree in Computer Science Majoring in Software Engineering......not only did I complete the course, I graduated with flying colors. I thought working life would be easier, and boy was I proved otherwise. Waking up to a mis-fit job everyday is pure suffocation - it gets harder and harder, looking forward to only Fridays and welcoming weekends in full swing. Sounds depressing aint it?

So what keeps me going? With the knowledge that in everything I do, I need to Glorify God...yup that includes my work too. And praying hard for a career change. So to all students deciding what to study, take time to discover your character, your calling and search deep to identify what you want to become. Do not allow your career to suck the life out of you.

-------------------
I pray that finance would not be in the way. And if God willing, a year from now I should be pursuing my dream.

Thank you God for recovering my dream.
Thank you Aaron for always believing in me, no matter the situation. ( I love you!)
Thank you Kerry for being the message carrier

Goodbye Josie

A good colleague is leaving my department today..

..SAD!

Josie is more than a colleague to me, a true friend. Working life has been more interesting partly because of her.

Memories, memories, memories

We organized our ever first teambuilding *smiles*....and it has been by far the best. We journeyed together for 4 years, through many thick and suffocating times...we managed through. You listened to all my 'Complains', my hurts, my sufferings and of course laughters.

"Friends are special people.

We can't pick our family, and we're sorely limited in the number of them at any rate.

Society and mores (and often our own conscience) dictate we select a single mate.

But our friends can be as diverse and infinite as the adjectives we choose.

Our friends, in a very real sense, reflect the choices we make in life.

Thank you Josie, for being a part of my life."

Tetra Box Test wont be the same without your bubbly presence.
Am glad we had a chance to worked together!

Watching this Tonight...

My department is treating us for HULK 2 later...7.05pm @ Queens

Hows the movie? I dont remember watching Hulk 1 as well...Hmmm...

Darn, he's looking nasty!

Dreams..

So why in the world am I blogging at 2pm?? *Big meal for lunch (oyster noodles) * and I need to finish explaining a flowchart, so the obvious would be...I'm too darn LAZY to finish my work.

My muscles are slightly aching from the long hours of dance practice. We have a last minute performance for SGGS graduation night @ E&O.....so we've been torturing and tearing muscles.

Somebody called me today and ask for my assistance to teach this group of people to dance for an opening event. I was so reluctant...coz I've been deprived from sleep lately, my schedule's really pack, and worse... I'm almost a perfectionist(when it comes to dance *winks*). I need to have certain standards, its tough teaching those who dont have rythm and not getting the choreography. Totally drives me nuts. And if its a church event...I dont charge for my service and stress...LOL!

I was asked today why dont I open my own studio? Well it was my dream till lately.......to be able to teach I would need passion (no qualms bout that) and also TechNIQUE! (which I totally suck)...I can bluff my way around for performance but for long term, wont work!

Lately i've been video-ing my dance practices and seriously been critiquing myself so much that I've been having second thoughts bout my capability to dance. Sigh! Pretty depressing I must say......

.....but then again, the sheer fact of being artistic, is being able to express from within....so really there's no right or wrong. So why the big fuss Sharon??

The expectations I set for myself is too damn high....but I WILL achieve it someday...

Here are some pics from last nights practice.

Sudden crave for Fried Chicken

Few weeks ago, I had this craving for fried chicken......but not KFC!

So aaron and myself put our 2 hour lunch break on friday to full use......we took a stroll to town and lunch-in @ Tajudin

The chicken was alright, nothing to shout about. Cargas would have hit the spot. Anyways here are some pics.
Hungry, Hungry, Hungry!

Pretty pathetic fried chicken, since I was craving....it did it for me!

A finished meal. They gave a lot of rice.....that was before the petrol price hike. LOL!

Happy Daddy's Day!

Indeed it was a good celebration.

Good time with Dad, mom, raymond & aaron. We missed you Sheryl!

Dinner @ Tanjung Tokong , Malay ala thai food.... followed by coffee @ starbucks.

Family, what would I do without them? Absolutely my life.

Kangkung ikan masin, Tomyam sotong, Ayam 3-rasa, Taugeh Belacan, Telur Dadar, Petai w/ Prawns......(salivating now)

After a full meal....time for the camera! Dad-io will be in KL for 2 weeks.....will miss him!

Not too gloomy Monday

Surprisingly, its quite an OK monday.

Came in late to work because of last night's hazelnut latte. Kept me awake till dawn.

Its 5.25 pm, time to pack up and head home. Time for rest? How I wish....there's choir practice at 8.30pm. I'm seriously in need of a shopping spree...NOW, right this moment. I'm so lacking of clothes but as usual Aaron will complain that I have too many of em and that I'm addicted to shopping. Gosh, addicted??!! What a strong word. Lets paraphrase it to "I lurvvee Shopping".

Anyways im yacking crap. Too tired to think.

I finished season 6 of Sex in the City last night. How is it? Pretty good ending but if the 'sex' elements were taken out of the show, will there still be a show? At the end of the day, its about four ladies who's searching for love and to be loved in all the wrong places. I've never been too keen in 'Sex in the City' but strangely I'm sort of waiting for the movie to be released.

Wonder what happens to Carrie & Mr. Big??
